Role Summary

Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Assistant IT Project Manager is responsible for working with business units and IT teams to design and develop IT networks, video monitoring, IAM, and security monitoring system to expand the footprint of the current system. This includes managing projects, eliciting business requirements, creating functional specifications, creating RFQs, network design and implementation, network documentation, publishing progress reports, and facilitating meetings.

Functions

  • Create project documentation and artifacts
  • Develop scope and requirements
  • Review Problems and Incidents to evaluate effort, priority, and impacts
  • Adjust project schedules and targets as needed to meet changing demands
  • Track project costs and identify/mitigate project risks
  • Ensure assigned projects are coordinated to achieve high-level project initiatives
  • Facilitate integration of solutions for approved emerging technologies
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Work as part of the IT team to create new documentation or system diagrams
  • Work with many different teams and departments to develop scope and help drive projects forward; assist in prioritization
  • Communicate status updates to the project stakeholder(s)
  • Test that business requirements are met
  • Assist/Lead the business with user training
  • Travel 25%, up to 50%

Qualifications

Education

  • Associates degree in IT, Networking, Business, Project Management or similar background
  • Bachelors degree (preferred)
  • Equivalent experience is acceptable

Certifications/Licenses

  • Certified Associate of Project Management (Preferred)

Experience

  • 2+ years of applicable experience in IT leading project and implementations
  • Proven experience working in a result-driven, diverse environment
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Visio
  • History of success developing, driving, and implementing IT projects
  • Successful implementation of IT project initiatives
  • Understanding of:
    • Networking design and implementation
    • Access Control
    • IP Cameras
